A while back I bought one of those pet beds for Oscar and he refused to go near it. Now if I leave a laptop case out he is in it and ready for a nap. I can't believe he fit his wide body in there. Next to sleeping his favorite hobby is eating (as you can see).

This week I was working on a web site for a new client. You can see the results here www.ever-greenservices.com This was my first experience working with godaddy as a web host. At first it was a challenge working with their online editor and web templates. But once I found my way around the limitations and how to make minor modifications to the html, it wasn't so bad. I would only recommend it to clients who want to maintain some part of the web site themselves. Changing the size of some of the content blocks and placing content outside of the designated areas was not allowed.

We had fun celebrating my girlfriend's birthday and Valentine's day last week. We stayed overnight at a casino on Saturday and then had a great dinner at Red Lobster on Wednesday night. Oscar the cat even got in on the party. He isn't really drinking that strawberry daquari, I just happened to take the picture as he had his head next to the straw. But that's the kind of cat he is. I may start posting more Oscar pics on my blog, because he's such a cool cat. After the fun it was back to work. I was contacted about two potential web design projects this past week. So I was busy working on quotes and talking to customers. Every project is unique and I guess that is why I find working on web design so interesting. I hope that I never get too busy to reply to people. I'm looking forward to the warmer temps here in Wisconsin. 30 degrees is going to feel like spring after the weather up here these past few weeks.

Budget Blog Upgrade

I finally took the leap and upgraded my blog to the latest version. I may have gotten carried away trying all the new features, because my blog now looks totally different than it did before. I guess change is good right? As long as I post things that are worth reading, that is most important. Anyway, this week I finished the poetry search web page I was working on. Poems on the Poetlady.com web site are now stored in a searchable database. After selecting the type of poem you want, it will display a list of poems. Next on my list is to do the same thing for the recipe web page.

This week I also had some success connecting a Yamaha keyboard to a midi interface on a computer. I always wanted to experiment with midi and never had the chance until now. The most challenging part was finding the Soundblaster mini midi adapter cables. I have a Soundblaster Live sound card with a front mounted control panel. The control panel has two midi ports, but they are smaller than standard midi. I found one web site that sells SB midi adapters. The price was reasonable, so I ordered a pair. Now I can do all kinds of cool things. I found out that if you change the midi out setting on the computer, a song playing on the computer will be heard on the keyboard speakers.
