New Clients
Interest in my web design service has been increasing lately. But one new client per month is a good result considering that I only advertise on two freelance web sites. Local clients are much easier to work with because you can meet them in person and understand their needs. I have a meeting next week with a potential client who seems like the perfect fit for my services. The owner is not very web saavy, but someone will be there who believes that a better web site will help the businesss. It is always helpful to have someone on your side who understands the value that can be obtained from a well maintained web site. Small business owners generally don't understand a lot of the terminology behind the Internet. As a web consultant I try to keep things simple and not give clients unrealistic expectations.

Safe Return
I managed to find my to and from Charlotte this week. The airport security check was kind of confusing. They don't really tell you what you need to do. Mostly you try to follow what the person in front of you is doing, and if you don't get it right, the TSA folks will let you know in a hurry. They have a hard job, but it seems like they could be a little more helpful to those of us who don't travel everyday. It is stressful enough being packed into a man made machine that seems like it wasn't made to leave the ground. The web cast didn't go as well as we had planned. But I learned a few things, and next time, I'm sure we will have better results.

Web Cast Trip
Next Monday and Tuesday I am scheduled to be in Charlotte, NC for a seminar. My job is to learn how to run the equipment for web casting the seminar. It's a great opportunity for me to get more involved in this technology. I just wish it wasn't way over in NC. That's just going to test me a bit more with the traveling aspect. I have to be careful, this could lead to more traveling, which isn't exactly one of my employment goals. Hopefully everything will go well and I will be able to report back next week that I learned something other than how to find my way to NC.

Day of the beast
Ah yes, the dreaded day of the beast, June 6th 2006. These days other dates have replaced this one with ones that are more fearful (9/11). If the devil only knew that he was being out done by a bunch of religous fanatics. Some would say that he is alive and well and living in Iraq. All of the headless bodies they keep finding in that country would seem to confirm this. I bet some of us would love to write and say more about this situation, but we fear that our blogs will be scanned for keywords and added to the watch list. Anyway, I'm sure the dark one is smiling on this day as there is still plenty of hate and deception going around in the world. Hopefully things will be better by June 6 3006. Maybe by then peace and love will be valued by those who are left on this soiled planet.
