Stop sign ahead

I came across this ivy covered stop sign in my travels this past weekend. I thought is was a good example of how nature and our fast paced, modern world sometimes meet in strange ways. It also reminds me of how looking for work is like having your career put on hold. It wouldn't be so bad if the process wasn't so judgmental. Employers have such a large pool to select from these days, almost anything can ruin your chances of getting hired. If no offers come in this week, it may be a long wait before I find work.

This week, in addition to looking for a job, I am working on a web site for JWC Electric, LLC. They are located in Hudson, WI and do the electrical work for Saint Croix Valley Geothermal. I also posted more items on Ebay. As I expected, many of the newer beer cans are only selling for the starting bid, if at all. Ebay had a special going for the last few weeks that allowed sellers to post items for any price without a listing fee. This generated listings for many items with inflated starting bids. As a result, I think sales overall declined. Many auctions never got going and expired without a sale. I'm still experimenting with matched sets, pairing beer cans of similar type, to see if that generates any interest. But, now that the listing special is over, there will be a fee for anything over 99 cents again. I also have a ton of books to sell, so that will keep me busy.
