Google Nexus 7

This week Google started shipping their 8GB Nexus 7 tablet made by ASUS. The 8GB model sells for $199 and the 16GB version lists for $249. On Ebay, the 8GB model had bids as high as $250. Maybe everyone doesn't know that you can now place your order right on Google's website. The Nexus 7 tablet has been getting good reviews on tech websites. The Google tablet is being compared to the Amazon Fire, which has a similar 7" screen. The Nexus 7 is lighter, has a higher screen resolution, a 1.2 megapixel front-facing camera, and longer battery life then the Fire. The Nexus 7 and Fire are the same price, so right now the Nexus 7 would appear to be the better value. But, Amazon will soon be releasing the Fire 2, which will bring it up to par with the Nexus 7. There are also reports that the soon to be released Fire 2 will have a model with a larger screen to compete with Apple's iPad. It's hard to believe that the Kindle Fire has only been out for 8 months and it's already out of date. It makes it hard to decide which product to buy, when a better one appears on the market every few months.
