Don't forget the 9/11 Anniversary

Now that they have started to recover bodies from New Orleans, I've been hearing more about the 9/11 anniversary. I just hope the hurricane hasn't redirected resources away from homeland security. I heard a reporter ask an interesting question today. The question was to one of the Generals down in New Orleans. "Would the government response have been different if this had been a terrorist attack?" The answer was yes. I thought that was the right answer considering who is responsible for disaster planning at the state level. The Governer of each state takes on a lot of that responsibility. It was interesting to hear the Governer of Lousianna defend himself and how everyone is blaming FEMA for the delay in responding to the crisis. Much of the recovery will be paid for by donations. But I'm afraid I will need that money to pay for food and fuel in the cold winter months ahead.
