Thoughts on the Katrina Disaster

I've been watching the horrific scenes from New Orleans this week, along with everyone else, and can't imagine what it must be like for the people who lost everything in that storm. A lot of people are saying that our government did not reacted quickly enough. I think this event has shown us just where their priorities really lay. We have some serious problems in this country that are not being addressed properly. It's time to put some resources into solving our internal problems and stop messing with people half way around the world that we don't even know. I'm sure there will be much debate in the aftermath of this tragic event. Lets hope something changes before the next disaster strikes us.
