By far the best place to search for work in Wisconsin is the Job Center of Wisconsin web site. The site which is operated by the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development and the Wisconsin Job Center system is free to both job seekers and employers. Since the system is free to use and maintained by the state, the quality of the job postings is much better than those you find on other employment search sites. A good source for other leading Wisconsin job sites can be found on the Wisconsin Employment page at AnythingWisconsin.com.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported on March 11, 2010 that Wisconsin's unemployment rate was at 8.7% in January. The numbers are about the same as they were last year at this time. The national unemployment rate sits at 9.7% as of Feb, 2010. Investors seem to be betting that we can only improve from here. The Nasdaq is up over 3% for the year and one of my small cap stock funds is up over 6%. My concern is that if gas prices go over $3 per gallon, the recovery is going to stall. Wise stock investors will be watching for a reason to take some profits, especially if they got in around the April, May, June timeframe last year.
