This is the last photo of our cat taken on 5/31/15. About 5 weeks later, he developed a problem with his heart and had fluid in his lungs. We took him to several vets, but in the end, we had to have him put down. He looks overweight and a bit unhappy in this photo. I suspect he was not feeling well for some time, but did his best to keep it hidden. We found a female orange tabby in September. There is a big difference in the energy level of a young kitten, compared to a 15 year old cat! It is almost like having a young child in the house at times.
My big project for this year was to paint the deck. It looks much better now than in this photo. I used the moderate deck restoration paint from Olympic. It took me a month of weekends to finish the job, but it looks great. We will see how well it holds up to the winter. This year's home expenses started with replacing the water heater. Then, I had the garage floor and driveway coated. Then, the microwave over the oven broke, and that had to be replaced. And finally, the water softener had to be replaced to fix a low water pressure problem. Oh, the joys of home ownership.
